  • Perinatal therapy is a specialized form of counseling designed to support individuals during pregnancy and the postpartum period. It focuses on addressing the unique emotional and mental health challenges that arise during this time, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Therapy can help you manage the transition to parenthood, improve your mental well-being, and navigate challenges like birth trauma, sleep deprivation, or adjusting to new roles.

  • You may benefit from perinatal therapy if you are experiencing persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, or overwhelm, difficulty bonding with your baby, trouble adjusting to your new role as a parent, or past trauma affecting your pregnancy or postpartum experience. If you are feeling emotionally drained or struggling with mental health, therapy can help you process these emotions and develop coping strategies.

  • The first session after our phone consultation is an intake and evaluation. I will meet you, either in the waiting area or via a HIPAA compliant telehealth platform, and introduce you to the therapy space. We will review your intake paperwork and ensure we are a good match to work together - during this time, I encourage you to ask any questions you have to help you get to know me or more about the therapy process in general. These sessions are also longer in length, typically - this allows us plenty of time to connect with one another and assess your goals for therapy.

  • Yes! We offer virtual sessions in addition to our in-person office sessions!

  • I like to invite my clients to reflect on the following "three Cs" after meeting with me for the first time:

    1. Comfort - Do you feel comfortable with your therapist? With the space? I am always open to clients sharing ways in which I can help them feel more comfortable - it's something that is important to me as both a clinician and as a person.

    2. Connection: This one is sort of hard to describe, but is comes down to do you feel connected with your therapist? Even if we have had different life experiences, can you visualize developing a therapeutic alliance with me?

    3. Communication: Do you feel your therapist is able to communicate well with you? As a therapist, my values are authenticity and transparency - I am going to be myself with you, and I am going to be honest with you.

If we meet and for whatever reason you don't feel like we're a good fit, you are allowed to tell me, and I will help connect you with someone who can better support you!

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy is a trauma-informed, parts-based approach that focuses on understanding the internal systems formed in response to stress and trauma. • The difference between counseling and consulting services lies in the focus and purpose of the support provided. Counseling services are centered around emotional support and mental health, offering therapeutic interventions to help individuals explore their feelings, behaviors, and mental well-being. Led by licensed professionals, counseling aims to address personal struggles, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, or life transitions, with the goal of healing and personal growth. On the other hand, consulting services provide expert advice and guidance to help clients navigate specific challenges or make informed decisions. Consulting is more focused on practical solutions, offering strategic recommendations for areas such as birth planning, sleep support, or building a network of perinatal professionals. While counseling focuses on emotional and psychological healing, consulting helps clients make informed choices and solve problems with specialized expertise.

  • At this time, Crescent Counseling & Consulting, LLC is not paneled with any insurances. We elect to remain an out-of-network provider in order to best protect you and your confidentiality; maintain the ability to decide the type and time-frame of treatment that best fits you and your needs; and to avoid having to give a preemptive mental health disorder diagnosis. However, we understand that therapy, though an investment, can be costly. Therefore, we will provide you with a superbill after each session for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. We also offer a complimentary resource to help guide you through investigating your out-of-network benefits. Because we believe therapy should be an accessible resource, we offer a select number of reduced session rates as well.

Payment options include Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, or Health Savings Account (HSA) cards that can be charged like a credit card.
